Our client attended Accident & Emergency, was given stitches and sent home without further treatment planned.
They returned to A&E three days later and received an x-ray, which did in fact show a break. However, this was not acted on by medical professionals and our client was not notified of the further injury. After an almost two-week delay, an Orthopedic Consultant contacted a family member of the client and requested they visit the department as a fracture had been detected.
Out client then received treatment in the form of a backslab cast. However, six months after the initial injury they were still experiencing pain and suffering, and additional weakness in the arm due to a lack of rehabilitation provided after the injury.
Our Medical Negligence solicitors successfully settled this claim for a figure of £5,000.
We have a dedicated team of solicitors and paralegals who have many years’ experience between them in running cases of this nature. They are highly trained to deal with all aspects of clinical negligence.
We want to ensure at Oakwood Solicitors Ltd that clients are not overwhelmed by legal jargon, medical terms that they don’t understand and for them to feel the claims procedure is as transparent as possible.
Our Guide to Orthopaedic Claims is worth reading to see if your case could be escalated by our team.
