Mental Health at Work
Today is World Mental Health Day and for us is one of the most important National Awareness Days in our calendar. Mental health continues to still have such a social stigma attached to it, and we want to encourage both men & women to open up about mental health and not feel ashamed to ask for help – it’s okay not to feel okay sometimes. Mental health problems can be anything from severe depression, anxiety, social anxiety to stress at work and can affect a person at any time of the year.
Of course, mental wellbeing doesn’t mean being happy all of the time & it doesn’t mean you won’t experience negative of painful emotions, this is a natural part of life, the problems arise when you feel low, negative, depressed, anxious & stressed for prolonged periods of time which unfortunately can lead to severe mental illnesses. Long term poor mental wellbeing can then lead to body depression & long-term physical illnesses, yes your mind can make you physically ill if left untreated.
The theme for World Mental Health Day 2017 is workplace wellbeing which is why we’ve created this snazzy little infographic highlighting the top statistics on Mental Health at Work.
