As a result, she suffered a laceration which subsequently left her with a scar and also a suspected fracture in shoulder, which upon further investigation was concluded to be a soft tissue injury.
The claim was submitted to the insurers of the building in question, the Defendant. Once their investigations were finalised, they confirmed that liability was admitted on behalf of the Defendant. As such, we sought to get the Claimant’s medical evidence which consisted of a medical report from a plastic surgeon for the scarring, and a report from an orthopaedic surgeon for the soft tissue injury sustained.
The plastic surgeon’s report considered not only the laceration and scar sustained, but also the future requirement for creams required to keep the scar tissue moisturised and cosmetic camouflage to cover the scar on the shoulder when exposed in warmer weathers.
When the Claimant’s medical evidence and schedule of past/future losses and expenses were complete, we valued the claim, submitted an offer, and negotiated our way to a settlement the Claimant was very happy with.
