Many people treat the coming of a new year as a new start and, for businesses, that could mean an overhaul of their procedures or a review of workplace safety.
The importance of this is highlighted in an article in the Blackburn News about a Chatham Greenhouse workplace accident, which highlighted the catastrophic dangers employees can face when working in seemingly benign circumstances.
Natasha Smids is currently residing in a London hospital with ‘life-threatening injuries’ following an accident at work. Natasha is employed by a greenhouse in Chatham and it is not clear what the serious accident involved, but she is currently in a critical condition.
It underlines the importance of employees ensuring that any concerns they have about work equipment or practices being highlighted to supervisors and/or managers within the firm. An accident avoided is always better than action being taken following injury.
