Accident and Emergency Claims

Every Accident and Emergency department treats patients who are suffering from life-threatening injuries to patients who are suffering from more minor injuries, such as broken bones. This branch of the NHS service is often heavily criticised and heavily regulated with strict targets that have to be met. And whilst more often than not exemplary care is provided in the Accident and Emergency Department, mistakes can be made.

Such mistakes include errors in the assessment of patients, failure to order appropriate investigations, incorrect diagnosis or a failure to diagnose the patient correctly. Such mistakes can have severe consequences upon the patient, with them either receiving inappropriate treatment or no treatment at all, delaying their recovery, or perhaps making their condition worse. In extreme cases, such mistakes can result in the death of the patient.
