Maxi-Cosi SPS Children’s Car Seats Sold at Argos and Chicco Auto-Fix and Synthesis Car Seats Develop Buckle Fault

The Maxi-Cosi SPS children’s car seat in concern has the catalogue number 376/6365.

    Maxi-Cosi SPS Children's Car Seats

If your seat was purchased between week 22/2012 and week 22/2013 you will find this information on the bottom of the car seat on the ECE sticker. The label is orange and white and is on the bottom of the car seat.

The Maxi-Cosi SPS car seat’s buckle is faulty and in the event of a collision may release.

If you have purchased one of these seats the manufacturer has told people to stop using them immediately and request a free replacement buckle.

You can do this by calling Dorel customer services at customercare@dorel.eu or phoning their customer care centre on 01284 413 141

The Chicco Auto-Fix and Synthesis Car Seats have had to be recalled after it was found that their seatbelt buckle had a manufacturing defect. The defect means that like the Maxi-Cosi the buckle is a risk in the event of a collision.

There have been no reports of accidents so far but as a precaution people who have purchased these car seats have been asked to visit www.qualitycontrol.sabelt.com or www.chicco.com.

The websites will aid you to see if your chair is affected and give you instructions on how to use the product safely.
