Lyn Gregory 56 from Poole Dorset claimed that she did a skin test 48 hours before using the dye. After dyeing her hair she broke out in agonising blisters which took a course of steroids and six weeks to heal.
Ms. Gregory told the Daily Mail that she had to cut her hair so that it didn’t irritate her neck. The reaction got so bad that she had to take time off from her job as a housing officer for the local authority.
Ms. Gregory said that when she put the dye on it felt a little itchy the following day it got worse then on Tuesday it was out of control. She suffered blisters all over her neckline ears and is now pursuing a claim against Schwarzkopf.
A Schwarzkopf representative said:
“We are sorry to hear about Ms. Gregory’s reaction and hope that she is now fully recovered. We were advised of Ms. Gregory’s reaction by her solicitor. As such we are not able to comment in such circumstances.”
