Apparently it was created by a charity in Calgary in 2009 and encourages people to ‘make an extra bowl of soup’ for people in need.

It has provided warm bowls of soup to people all over Canada and the U.S.. When life feels a little out of your control, and it is difficult to know what to do to make yourself and others feel better, simple pleasures, such as a warm bowl of soup can help ground and encourage you.
So today, if not a bowl of soup, why not take the extra bag of clothes languishing at the bottom of the wardrobe to a charity centre helping to donate items to those in need, consider whether that extra cup of coffee could actually mean a warm meal for someone hiding away from the terror going on around them and donate the money instead, or simply hand over that extra portion of soup to a colleague who is struggling with life a little.
Throughout the course of my job, as a personal injury paralegal, I encounter many people in distress, who have been thrown into a situation they didn’t expect. An injury can cause untold difficulties, both financial and with family life.
My team and I always try and offer a sympathetic ear and a straight forward approach to dealing with a situation that can seem confusing and difficult. Alex Singleton, who I work closely with had this recommendation today:
“Great solicitors. Took all of 6 months to settle my claim . The lovely lady Alex singleton dealt with my case and she did an excellent job in settling this . Great outcome.. highly recommended.”
Whilst our motivation is always to ease a Claimant’s situation and, ultimately, to obtain a settlement that we hope in some way makes up for the mistakes made by others, it is always heartwarming to receive confirmation that we’ve got it right.
So please remember ‘Kindness is free to give, but priceless to receive’ and enjoy that big bowl of minestrone with a big chunk of crusty bread, safe in the knowledge that another individual is enjoying it too.
