COVID forced many companies to change their outlook with regard to hybrid working, and it appears that a lot have continued to embrace it post pandemic.

In a newly launched category, the Employee Benefits Awards 2023 which celebrates the reward, benefits and HR community, are recognising companies who have offered effective benefits packages to support their employees with hybrid working.

The judges will look for companies who can demonstrate that they support managing mental, physical and financial wellbeing, flexible working arrangements to enable employees to adapt to non-work commitments whilst continuing to meet business needs and can show how a benefits package has evolved since moving to a hybrid working arrangement.

The judge will also place value on well thought through initiatives and objects, innovation and quantifiable, measurable results that show how the organisations identified the best hybrid working pattern, how the identified pattern was structured and the impact that the arrangement had on engagement, take-up rates, recruitment and retention.

Not having an effective work-life balance is one of the main causes of stress in the workplace, and hybrid working often goes a long way to rectifying this issue, whether by reducing an employee’s commuting time during the week or allowing them to alter their working hours to suit their family commitments.

Given the costs that a lot of companies incurred moving to hybrid working as a result of the COVID pandemic, it is welcoming to see that at least in this sector, those who commit to it for their employees are being recognised for the positive impact that it can have on their employees’ wellbeing.
