The Pension Awareness Week runs from the 11th to the 15th September 2023.

This year, being an extra special year as it marks the 10th birthday of Pension Awareness Week!

What is Pension Awareness Week?

Pension Awareness Week is a five day event that aims to provide free help and advice on pensions. It brings together pension providers, government and key stakeholders to help pension savers and employers understand and engage with their pensions.

The campaign encourages people to get involved in a range of live shows and articles providing free, impartial and straightforward pension information.

How did it start?

The Pension Awareness campaign was created by Pension Geeks and started as an idea to mark a day – Pension Awareness Day.

It began as a small meet up with industry providers before it expanded into a 5 day event with a jam-packed online timetable and; has even included a double decker bus tour, travelling all over the country.

The campaign has massively evolved over the years but their mission to help people through pension engagement has always remained the same.

Jonathan Bland, Pension Awareness co-founder of the campaign, said: “We started Pension Geeks 10 years ago from our kitchen after being frustrated with the lack of materials and guidance that truly helped individuals make sense of pensions.”

Can I get involved?

Pension Geeks, the creators of the campaign said that more than one million people visited the campaign site last year and 40,000 attended the live shows.

The campaign has even reached global shores, with Pension Awareness campaign events taking place in Canada and Southern Europe.
