Daniel Broadmore, 36, was found guilty in January of four charges, including inciting sexual activity and sexual assault against a young girl, which reportedly took place in Filey, North Yorkshire.
Broadmore, 36, of Somerdale Walk, Bramley, was sentenced at York Crown Court on Friday, April 5.
He was found guilty of all four charges relating to the girl, who North Yorkshire Police said had been under 13 at the time of the offences.
Officers said the victim reported the incidents when she was in her late teens and praised her bravery in coming forward.
Paul Thompson, from Scarborough CID, said:
“The victim has grown up traumatised due to the disturbing level of abuse committed by Broadmore.
“She has suffered a great deal of anguish and anxiety for almost 10 years.”
Mr. Thompson said he hoped Broadmore’s conviction and jailing would provide “a measure of closure and comfort, especially knowing her experience could encourage other victims of non-recent abuse to make a report and seek support”.
