Consequently, the trust has asked patients to avoid its blood testing service at Nottingham City Hospital, including the Queen’s Medical Centre. However, the NUH has reinforced the fact to “use NHS services wisely” and to only use the services, if necessary, as there is an increased “pressures as a result of the incident”.
Delays in the service will continue whilst a solution is met, although, patients should continue to attend previously scheduled appointments.
A spokesperson for the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) stated they became aware of the problem earlier this week and have been in “regular communication” with GPs.
“We are asking GPs to do a manual process for urgent blood tests so they can be processed”.
According to the NHS government website, blood test results are given after a few days and “usually in a few weeks”.
A Borderline blood test result can indicate the test falls between normal and abnormal. Generally, borderline results are not of concern and require no action.
To receive your blood test result, you can visit your GP surgery, or, you can login to the NHS App. (link the app).
