Oakwood Solicitors launched a heart-warming community initiative this holiday season, donating 108 gift bags to support the vital work of Involve Leeds, which is hosting a Christmas Day for the community.

    Who is Involve Leeds?

At the start of the festive season, we rolled out an internal donation drive, named “Gift a Smile,” to gather a large collection of curated gift bags for individuals of all ages who will be spending Christmas Day with Involve Leeds.

Involve Leeds is a community centre in Hunslet that supports both children and adults. Their vital work helps educate young minds in important life skills and supports parents who may not have the means to care for their children during school holidays.

    Inspired by Giving

The concept takes inspiration from popular Christmas giving programmes, focusing on providing personalised and age-appropriate gifts. The goal is to ensure everyone, from the youngest children to the elderly, receives a thoughtful gift that brings joy on Christmas morning.

The “Gift a Smile” campaign is requested donations across a broad range of age categories to cover all bases and cater to the diverse needs of those supported by Involve Leeds:

    • Yong children aged: 0-2, 2-4, 5-7, 8-10
    • Teenagers aged: 11-14, 15-18
    • Young adults aged: 18-21
    • Adults aged: 21-50, 50-Elderly

Making a Difference on Christmas Day

The firm set out to collect as many gifts as possible to make a significant impact this Christmas. We are therefore thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our staff and community, we collected a total of 108 gift bags!

We delivered these bags, full of presents to bring smiles to their faces, to Involve Leeds on Tuesday 16th December, 2025. This mid-December drop-off allowed Involve Leeds ample time to sort and prepare the gifts for their Christmas Day celebration.

Within a Day, we are beyond proud to say we supported the distribution to the following:

    • 8 bags to their learning disabilities sewing group – most of whom live in supported accommodation.
    • 6 bags to families with SEND children
    • 8 to children with lived experience of family addiction
    • 12 to members of today’s foodbank ( experiencing food poverty)
    • 10 to young people who have just left care
    • 10 to children on the edge of care

    Our staff speak out:

A spokesperson for Oakwood Solicitors commented: “We are thrilled to support Involve Leeds and their invaluable effort in hosting a Christmas Day event. The festive season can be a particularly challenging and isolating time for many. By creating these tailored gift bags, we hope to add a small moment of magic and show every person attending that they are valued and remembered.”

Share the love on Social media

We are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to helping put a smile on the faces of children who might otherwise have nothing to open this Christmas Day.
