Our specialist Dental Negligence team has recently assisted another victim of dental negligence in securing tens of thousands of pounds in compensation for the poor treatment received from her dental practitioner.

    Background to the Claim

Our client paid thousands of pounds for the placement of an implant at the front of her smile. Unfortunately, the negligent dentist placed the implant incorrectly and caused damage to the inferior alveolar nerve. As a result, our client suffered from numbness in her chin, lower face and lips.

The appearance of her face had changed and she developed a lisp. The nerve damage was permanent and our client suffered a psychological injury as a result.

    General Dental Council Investigates

The Defendant was investigated by the General Dental Council (GDC) who issued a Formal written warning to him.  The GDC found that the Defendant’s fitness to practise was impaired by reason of misconduct on the grounds that he:

    1. Failed to provide an adequate standard of care to our client.
    2. Failed to obtain informed consent for the treatment he was providing.
    3. Failed to maintain an adequate standard of record keeping.

What the Client Said About Us

I was uncertain as to whether I should claim for the malpractice dentistry, but after talking to Carol Cook I decided to go ahead.  She has been most helpful and her advice has been invaluable.  She has kept me appraised at every point of negotiations.

“I have the utmost respect for and wish to thank Carol for her patience and understanding.”
