When Michael Schumacher suffered a serious accident whilst skiing in 2015, many were shocked that a man who had put his life on the line so many times in the cockpit of a formula one car could suffer such catastrophic consequences in a seemingly straightforward accident.
The family has recently released a special App to mark his 50th birthday and celebrate his life and achievements.
The accident itself reminds us all that we do not know what awaits us in the future. Many experience adversity as a result of problems experienced just carrying out everyday tasks. For Michael, skiing was an ‘everyday’ part of his life. For myself I enjoy exercising at the gym, others enjoy a country walk or coffee in their favourite café.
With the advent of ‘Escape Rooms’ and trampoline parks, zip wires and climbing walls, we expose ourselves to more and more risk every day and even the most mundane activities can result in accidents.
