More recalls hit the UK ahead of Christmas

Some of the UK largest retailers, B&Q and Argos, have released some recalls ahead of Christmas this week.

    B&Q Recalls

B&Q has identified a potential fire risk with the REMOTE CONTROL ON/OFF SETS below which have shown excessive heat build-up in the plug of some units.  B&Q believe that the excessive heat these units produce could ignite items that come into contact with it.

The product identified is Remote Control On/Off Set Twin  – Barcode 5052931395033 REMOTE CONTROL ON/OFF SET TRIPLE – Barcode 4895130705675.

The products were on sale between November 2014 and September 2017

B&Q advise anyone who may have purchased the affected products to stop using them immediately and return them to store

Offered for sale between August 2016 and March 2017.

    2.Mac Allister 710w Electric Hedge Trimmer MHTP710

Offered for sale between July 2006 and January 2011.

    Argos Recalls

Argos have also released two recent recalls this week.  Firstly ‘Simple Value 2kW Upright Fan Heater’, warning it poses an electric shock and burn risk.

If you have purchased this product, we recommend that you stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Argos store for a full refund.

Secondly Argos has issued a recall on its Hygena Angel Chairs.  These armchairs do not come cheap and retail at £250.00.  Argos have identified the risk of collapse with the chair as the glue that holds the legs together may become weak.  Not something you would expect for a high priced item.

If you have sustained injury or property damages from a defective product please fill in the contact form above or call us now on 0113 200 9787 for advice and help.
