    Toys Which Contain a Chemical That Can Cause Cancer and Birth Deformities Taken from Market Stall

    Children’s toy which are made with a chemical that can cause cancer deformity in unborn babies and infertility in men have been seized from a market stall in Medway.
    ‘Fruit-head’ dolls received a Europe wide ban two years ago because they have the chemical phthalates which is extremely dangerous if it is consumed.
    The toys are brightly coloured with a range of fruit-shaped coloured heads which include apple blackberry strawberry and pineapple.
    Kent news reported that Councillor Peter Hicks said: ‘I urge anyone who has bought one to keep it away from children and tell our trading standards service immediately.
    ‘At the same time any Medway business that may still have them should return them to their suppliers citing the Europe-wide recall.’
    The dolls were found being sold in a Gillingham shop earlier in the year.
    This is the second time this year that a children’s toy has been sold when it contained cancer causing chemicals a zebra toy was recalled and destroyed earlier in the year read the story here
