Will Aid 2016 – How To Get A Will For Free

Throughout November, we’ve teamed up with Will Aid and are offering to make your Will without charging any Solicitor’s fees.  All we ask of you in return, is to make a small donation towards one of the nine partnering Will Aid charities, which include Age UK,  You can find out more about the partnering charities here.

The month of Will Aid presents the perfect opportunity to discuss the importance of making a will and to help you avoid the pitfalls of DIY Wills, or not having a Will at all.

Many clients come to us after attempting to draft a Will themselves, without sufficient knowledge of  the strict criteria involved such as witnessing rules and other factors that can make a Will invalid. In these cases, clients wanted to save some money on the fee of creating a Will, but this could prove to be more expensive and complicated for your beneficiaries in the future.

For example, many married couples believe that their possessions automatically go to their partner when they die, but if you do not have a Will this is not always the case.  If you are not married, then your partner could receive nothing at all.

By not having a Will, you have no guarantee how your assets or money will be distributed once you’ve passed away, as the decision would then lie with the courts. Even if you do not own your own home, it is important to make a Will and Lasting Power Of Attorney, as you may have other valuable assets which have not previously been considered.

Take advantage of Will Aid this month and make an appointment with our Wills & Probate Expert Solicitor, Zoe Nicholson.
