Sophie O’Shea joined Oakwood Solicitors in 2026 as Paralegal in our Psychiatric Injury Department. She obtained her Law Degree through the Open University whilst working full time, studying on evenings and weekends.

Before joining us, Sophie worked for a public sector in-house legal team for 11 years, defending Civil claims. Before that, she worked in-house for Thomas Cook defending illness and injury claims, so she had 16 years’ experience with defending Personal Injury claims before changing sides.

Sophie came to Oakwood as she wanted to help people suffering with mental health issues, so the Psychiatric Injury team appealed to her.

Sophie’s next step is qualifying as a Solicitor by completing the SQE.
