      What Our Clients Say

“The pension claim that Stephanie Gardiner managed to sort for me was complicated and very time consuming. She took all the stress and was very informative on all the stages. Regular up dates , even if there wasn’t much to report but nether the less keeping informed that she was chasing companies for information . Its taken a long time to get to the end but its worth it. Very pleased with the outcome thank you.”

      – Colin Johnson

“Oakwood solicitors have been working on my very complicated case for years. I had looked into claiming myself but the process and paperwork involved was immense. Oakwood took it on and after a couple of years they got my money back. Laura contacted me whenever there was an update, but sometimes there was nothing to tell so I left it to them (that what I was paying for) and as soon as the decision was made in my favour the money was paid next day. Excellent service from start to finish.”

      – Matthew

      Civil abuse claims

“Oakwood Solicitors have provided me with an excellent service regarding a claim of mine. I can not express enough the professionalism, communication and being with you every very step of the way. My Solicitor was Stephanie Gardiner and has been committed to my claim for a couple of years now which I am so happy with. My claim went through FCSC and I know you can do claims yourself directly with them, but reassured why go through all the stress and legal matters when you can use Oakwood/ Stephanie Gardiner. The cost factor for their services isn’t excessive, but worth every penny with the amount of work they actually do for you and make the process and journey smooth. Thank you very much Stephanie and Oakwood.”

      – Kim E

      Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any upfront costs to pursue a claim?

Oakwood Solicitors do not charge any upfront fees to pursue a claim.

We operate on a Damages Based Agreement (‘DBA’), more commonly known as a No-Win, No-Fee Agreement. This means that if the claim is unsuccessful and, you will not be charged. Our fees only become payable when a successful settlement is received.

What are your fees if my claim is successful?

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) regulate the fees that a Solicitor can charge for this area of work. The fee is expressed as a maximum percentage charge that a Solicitor can deduct from their clients damages. The maximum percentage charge is on a sliding scale dependent upon the amount of damages received by the Client, subject to an overall maximum monetary charge as illustrated in the table below.

Band Damages awarded for a claim Maximum percentage charge Maximum Monetary charge
      1 £1 – £1,499 30% £420
      2 £1,500 – £9,999 28% £2,500
      3 £10,000 – £24,999 25% £5,000
      4 £25,000 – £49,999 20% £7,500
      5 £50,000 or above 15% £10,000

The maximum percentage rate and the maximum total charge is exclusive of VAT. VAT is charged at 20% and is claimed in addition.

If your claim is successful, then our fees for this claim are limited to the lower of:

      a) The maximum percentage rate of charge with reference to the damages awarded for the  claim, or;

      b) the maximum total charge in the table applicable to the redress awarded for your claim.

Do you only handle bank fraud?

No, we also handle online scams, investment fraud, and romance scams.
