The collaboration is aimed at increasing awareness of pulmonary fibrosis (PF), a debilitating lung disease that affects thousands of people in the UK, and provide support for those diagnosed with the condition.
As part of the partnership, Oakwood Solicitors will offer legal advice and representation to those diagnosed with PF. The firm has extensive experience in handling Industrial Disease claims, including those related to asbestos exposure, which is one of the leading causes of pulmonary fibrosis.
Through this partnership, Oakwood Solicitors will work closely with APF to ensure that individuals affected by the disease are aware of their legal rights and options for compensation.
Pulmonary Fibrosis is a widely misunderstood disease which often goes undetected for many years. The condition causes progressive scarring of the lungs, leading to respiratory failure and often requires urgent medical intervention. Often, it is caused by exposure to certain types of dust or allergens in the air, as a result of negligence at work or in public places.
Both organisations are committed to working together to make an impact in the lives of people affected by pulmonary fibrosis this September.
Abbie Keech, Solicitor and Managing Director at Oakwood Solicitors Ltd said:
“At Oakwood Solicitors, we have a fantastic team of Solicitors and Paralegals that work in our Industrial Disease team.
“We are really appreciative and excited to be working alongside APF to assist the people that they work with.
“They do such a fantastic job in their support and help towards clients affected by PF and we want to do everything we can as a team to highlight their message.”
Liam Hill, Solicitor and Deputy Head of Industrial Disease at Oakwood Solicitors said:
“To be able to sponsor APF means so much to us in the Industrial Disease department at Oakwood Solicitors. We have seen and assisted many clients with long-lasting and life-limiting respiratory conditions, and it is wonderful to be able to support a leading charity in assisting those suffering from this condition.
“We are so proud to be able to raise the profile of this wonderful charity, and having met their Chairman Steve on many occasions, it means a lot to work with them. We hope for their continued growth, and they will have our continued support for long into the future.”
Daniel Saxton, CEO at Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis said:
“We are delighted that Oakwood Solicitors are sponsoring APF this Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month.
“Their support will help us raise awareness of this devastating disease and raise funds towards vital new research. Our thanks to everyone at Oakwood Solicitors for their support.”
