Our client attended A&E and was given stitches and a dressing was applied on the wound, and was then referred for wound re-dressing after an x-ray was performed.
After the bandages were removed, our client still had difficulty flexing his fingers and had pain when trying to use his work tools. He returned to his GP and was referred to Orthopedics for assessment.
This was done, and surgery was suggested for a staged tendon reconstruction after a consultant confirmed that the client had, in fact, sustained a 100% division of the flexor tendon in his ring finger. There was then a significant delay in our client’s treatment, and surgery was not complete until 18 months after he received diagnosis.
This extended period of pain and suffering warranted a claim for compensation, and as such our client was awarded £7,500 in damages.
We have a dedicated team of solicitors and paralegals who have many years’ experience between them in running cases of this nature. They are highly trained to deal with all aspects of clinical negligence.
We want to ensure at Oakwood Solicitors Ltd that clients are not overwhelmed by legal jargon, medical terms that they don’t understand and for them to feel the claims procedure is as transparent as possible.
Our Guide to Orthopaedic Claims is worth reading to see if your case could be escalated by our team.
